Concordia University student Stephanie Terezon named Nancy Larson Foundation Scholar

Seward, NE (February 15, 2021) – Concordia University student Stephanie Terezon has been named a Nancy Larson Foundation Scholar and awarded a $1000 scholarship in recognition of her inspiring leadership, personal narrative, and academic achievement.

The Nancy Larson Foundation proudly supports students across the country majoring in elementary education by awarding scholarships to deserving students each year. Terezon is one of eight recipients selected from the many applications received by the Foundation.

In her personal narrative, Stephanie shared, “I decided in first grade I was meant to be a teacher, when I had a phenomenal teacher who created a deep connection with me and made me feel important. Then I had my first Latina teacher and she made me feel like I belonged at school. Feeling represented made me believe that I too could be a teacher. I love teaching and take pride in connecting to my students on multiple levels to ensure that they are comfortable in my classroom and ready to learn.”

“Stephanie is very perceptive and in touch with the needs of today’s classroom,” said Nancy Larson. “The committee was most impressed with her passion for teaching and her dedication to her students.”

Larson, a former teacher and curriculum director, has dedicated her life to advancing elementary education. Nancy Larson Science K–5 programs are classroom-tested and prepare children for upper-level science classes and careers in science. The program was written to provide in-depth science content in an easy-to-teach format.
