Kansas State University Student
Rylee Korb Named Nancy Larson Foundation Scholar

Manhattan, KS (xxx) – Kansas State University student Rylee Korb has been named a Nancy Larson Foundation Scholar and awarded a $1000 scholarship in recognition of her inspiring leadership, personal narrative, and academic achievement.

The Nancy Larson Foundation proudly supports students across the country majoring in elementary education by awarding scholarships to deserving students each year. Korb is one of seven recipients selected from the many applications received by the Foundation.

In her personal narrative, Rylee shared, “Two of my inspirations in becoming a teacher are my grandmother and my fifth grade teacher. They were encouraging, had positive attitudes, and guided an inclusive and engaging classroom. These role models developed confidence, respect, humility, and community service in me. As a little girl, I played school with my friends and family, but it wasn’t until high school that I discovered there was no better feeling than when someone I was working with grasped the concepts that had been challenging them. My development as a teacher will never be over and I am delighted to start this lifelong learning adventure.”

“Rylee’s story of the teachers in her life who inspired her to become a teacher was very insightful and is exactly the type of life experience that forms the foundation of a wonderful career in education,” remarked Nancy Larson. “She understands what it takes to be a great teacher, a mentor,  and an inspiration to children.”
